FEBRUARY 12: National Clean Out Your Computer Day
Jared, Parker, and I spent four hours making about 200 sugar cookies for FHE so I didn't have a whole lot of time to dedicate to this holiday. I would've usually taken my laptop over to Brey, because he's a computer whiz, but since I didn't start thinking about this holiday until almost midnight I was kind of a slacker. I just put all of the icons on my desktop into different folders and called it a day.
FEBRUARY 13: Tortellini Day
As usual, Tuesday was a pretty packed day with school, but I wasn't going to miss out on Tortellini Day. Duffy and I had like 20 minutes in-between school and The Bachelor to make Tortellini's so we hurried home and cooked them and ate them on the car ride over to Niki's where we were watching the Bachelor at.

FEBRUARY 14: Valentine's Day
Though I am as single as a pringle, I am a hopeless Romantic so I've always loved Valentine's Day. This year I was especially looking forward to it because I got to work! No, I am not being sarcastic, nor am I crazy (okay, maybe a little). As a waitress Valentine's Day is awesome because it's a week night that's as busy as a weekend, where everyone is willing to spend a bit more money AKA there's a huge potential to make a lot of tips. As I work a job where tips are 100% of my pay, a shift like that is hard to pass up. I actually requested to work Valentine's Day back in December and I was super stoked to work it. I was talking about it for weeks beforehand. I can't help it, I adore my job. I'm a weirdo, I know.
So Valentine's Day arrives and I figured as excited as I was to work, I still needed to do something to celebrate the holiday before work, so I decided to focus my whole day on love and showing those that I love that I care about them.
I decided to start my day off by going to the temple, since I felt like that's a great way to start off spreading love. I put on a dress with red flowers, put my hair up with a red ribbon, slipped on my red high heels and headed out. I went with Duffy and then afterwards gave her a Valentine. (I got all my friends Star Wars Valentine's and FunDip).
After that I went and made my mom lunch, since she was sick and brought her a caramel apple and my dad a mini pecan pie. Then I went and brought both my grandmas Valentine's, dropped off Valentine's at Jessica and Rocky's, swung by Kayla's to give her one and then stopped by my guy friends' apartment to give Parker, Brey, Jared, Kam, Brennan and Craig theirs.
After that I headed to work. I brought all of my coworkers their own heart shaped box of chocolates. It was a fun shift and I was in a great mood all night! My cute parents put roses and a new fuzzy blanket in my car while I was at work. It ended up being my favorite Valentine's Day yet (I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing). Here's me on Valentine's with my real love: chocolate covered strawberries.
FEBRUARY 15: Singles Awareness Day
I know a lot of people joke that February 14th is singles awareness day, and if you're single it can definitely feel that way, but did you know that February 15th is actually National Singles Awareness Day? For this holiday I went on Tinder and swiped right on everyone until I ran out of swipes. Looking back, it was a pretty questionable way to celebrate, because I've gotten all sorts of strange messages since.
FEBRUARY 16: National Almond Day
On the way to work I stopped at the Mighty Baker because their almond macarons are my favorite, but unfortunately, when I got there they were all sold out. I got out of work pretty late and still hadn't celebrated, so my coworker Drew gave me some candied almonds so I could keep up with my resolution.
FEBRUARY 17: Random Acts of Kindness Day
Okay, by now you can probably tell that I often procrastinate and it almost ended me with this one, but don't worry I figured it out. At about 11pm that night I set out to find someone to do a random act of kindness for. I drove around looking for inspiration, but not many people are out that late. I decided I'd go to the Trolley and bring the kitchen ice cream sundaes from McDonald's since they are usually there pretty late on weekends. I stopped by McDonald's in Springville and... you might've guessed it: their ice cream maker was broken. I wasn't going to let that stop me though. I went into the little convenience store and bought a ton of candy to take to the kitchen employees. When I got there they had already left. Okay, that was a bust. I ended up going to Taco Bell and giving the worker a candy bar and paying for the car behind me. I still had a ton of candy left though, so my friends were pretty happy when I showed up to church the next day with a purse full of it.
FEBRUARY 18: Cow Milked While Flying in an Airplane Day
Yes, it's as weird as it sounds. There is a national holiday celebrating a cow named Nellie who, on February 18, 1930, was the first cow to ride in a plane and be milked mid-flight. How do I know? Because to celebrate I looked up a bunch of random information on this cow.
Over all, this week I was reminded how good it feels to do something nice for someone else. It doesn't have to be something big either. Giving the cashier at Taco Bell a candy bar was the easiest thing, and I probably left even happier than he was about the whole thing. You never know the difference you can make in the small things.
