Week 8: You're My Cherry Pie

FEBRUARY 19: Chocolate Mint Day
I'm a big fan of all things chocolate mint. Mint chocolate is my favorite flavor of ice cream. Mint Oreos do not taste like toothpaste, they taste delicious. Mint is one of my favorite flavors. Needless to say, of the holidays to celebrate today (yes, I know it was also President's Day) I chose Chocolate Mint Day. I celebrated by going to the BYU Creamery and getting a BYU mint brownie. If you've never had one of those, you need to go try one right now. Those things are heavenly.

FEBRUARY 20: Cherry Pie Day
I was definitely not skipping out on Cherry Pie Day. I love cherry pie. I ended up buying a frozen cherry pie and baking it. I know, I'm lame and didn't make a homemade cherry pie from scratch, but I'm into the busiest part of the semester. Hopefully my celebrating skills will go up when I get through wave two of midterms.

FEBRUARY 21: Sticky Buns Day
On Sticky Buns Day I decided to bring treats to work to celebrate, since I hadn't brought treats to work in a while. I stopped at Smith's and bought crumb cake cinnamon buns and gave them to my coworkers.

FEBRUARY 22: Cook a Sweet Potato Day
Duffy and I went to Rumbi and I got sweet potato fries. There were a lot of food based holidays this week and I ended up just buying everything, so that can show you how busy I was. I still managed to celebrate though.

FEBRUARY 23: Skip the Straw
I enjoyed Drinking Straw Day so much and this was the opposite of that. At work I didn't use a straw in my drink, which felt like a kind of unimpressive way to celebrate, but I figured customers might get upset if I didn't give them straws.

FEBRUARY 24: Tortilla Chip Day
Luckily my friends helped me out with this holiday. Brennan, Craig, and I were going to the BYU Basketball game, so when we stopped for food beforehand they insisted we went to Cafe Rio to get Nachos in lieu of the holiday. I had already eaten, so I had one of Craig's chips in celebration.

FEBRUARY 25: Chocolate Covered Nut Day
Saturday at almost midnight I figured I better prep for the next day's holiday so I went to the store to buy a bunch of chocolate covered nuts. I figured since I'd kind of slacked this week, I should at least get a variation of different chocolate covered nuts. I got chocolate covered almonds, cashews, and peanuts. Then Sunday night I took them all over to my friends' apartment, so they could eat them with me.

By the end of this week I was feeling pretty worn out of sweet foods. I was ready for the end of February and looking forward to March for a fresh new wave of holidays.
