JULY 2: UFO Day
For World UFO Day I watched a discovery channel show on UFOs and aliens.
JULY 3: Chocolate Wafer Day
I brought a bunch of chocolate wafers for work for the holiday. Treats always make work better :)
JULY 4: Independence Day
Okay REAL actual big holiday here. I've always loved the Fourth of July. It's in the heart of summer and there's parades and fireworks and all sorts of festivities. I started the day off by working. I have to wear all black at work, but I spirited it up by wearing a red choker, red white and blue star earrings, a red white and blue striped headband, a white scrunchie with red and blue stars, red lipstick, and blue eyeliner. I know, I know, but go big or go home right? I also brought white chocolate dipped pretzel sticks to work for everybody. They had blue and white star sprinkles on them and were super cute. They reminded me of sparklers. No, I didn't make these, thanks to Walmart.
After work I did the American thing of drinking a coke and cooking a hotdog on the BBQ for dinner. That's what normal people do on the Fourth of July right?! Normally it's with your family, but my parents were in California. I also made my outfit I little more festive by wearing a blue and white skort with a white shirt that had a red and white pocket and then my red Tieks.
Later that night I went the the Pleasant Grove Fireworks with my cousins. They always have the best show around. Did I miss anything 'Murica?
JULY 5: Bikini Day
I go back and forth in my confidence when it comes to things like bikinis. I'm really short and curvy, so sometimes I think yikes I look like pudgy little Pillsbury Dough Boy and other times I think dang I'm Kim Kardashian! I swear I could weigh exactly the same and some days I think my body looks great and other days not so much. I guess that's part of being a girl.
It takes a certain kind of confidence to rock a bikini and the more you have the better you look in it. Over the years I've come to love and appreciate my body flaws (for the most part, at least. Why is cellulite even a thing?) Maybe I'll never have a body like Taylor Swift and rock all those super cute jumpsuits, but hey different body types are good. I CAN be a Scarlett Johansson and that's pretty great. There's good and bad about every body and we can't change the body type we've got, so all we can do is learn to love ourselves and be comfortable in our own skin.
On national bikini day I went out and bought a bikini. I debated whether I should share the pictures of me in my new bikini for the world to see, but I've decided to be confident so that hopefully I can inspire other girls to be confident with their bodies too. Here they are:
If I have any advice from this blog post it's this:
Girls, don't be ashamed of things you can't control. We all have flab in places we don't want or nothing in places where we want it. No body is perfect and I don't think anybody hasn't had something they dislike about their appearance. My stomach isn't perfectly flat, my thighs are big and jiggle when I walk, and I have a double chin in pictures where my face isn't angled perfectly. It can be hard to admit those things because I want to seem "Instagram perfect". Maybe my thighs are large, but that comes with having a large booty and I like that about myself. My stomach isn't perfectly flat, but I also like to enjoy things like a bacon cheeseburger and fries sometimes. My face sometimes isn't how I want it to look in pictures, but I know that my smile is genuine and that I am genuine, and that's more important. I'm not saying you should just stay in bed and watch netflix and eat potato chips all day everyday, you should always work on improving and becoming your better self. It is definitely important to exercise and eat healthy, but it's also important to be happy with yourself, whatever you look like.
My other bit of advice is to find a fashion that helps you be confident. If it's not a bikini that's fine, you don't have to show that much skin if that's not your thing. I'm a big proponent of fashion. Wear what makes you confident and happy and if you learn to find that right clothes with the right fit you can help every body type look its best. Be yourself and love yourself even with all your quirks and flaws. Let you freckles show, don't be embarrassed by your cellulite, and rock that bikini!
JULY 6: Fried Chicken Day
For Fried Chicken Day I ate a fried chicken leg for breakfast. For breakfast? Yes for breakfast, it was leftover and it was in my parents fridge. I always grew up eating leftovers for breakfast, but when I moved out I found out that a lot of people find that very strange. I don't care, I like it.
JULY 7: Chocolate Day
For Chocolate Day I went to Coldstone because they were having this ice cream:
JULY 8: Video Game Day
For Video Game Day Brey invited everyone in our ward over to play Mario Tennis. It was so much fun! I always love it when I have my friends help with the holidays. They really are the best.
My favorite holiday this week was the Fourth of July of course! Keep celebrating everybody and keep loving yourself!

It looked pretty darn chocolatey and good. Too bad when I had it I remembered why I don't like chocolate ice cream. Oh well.
